Heres our first Urban Strategy, after some lectures on urban theory and strategic planning we were asked to pair up and tackle an area of our choice!
Me, and Simon Lee chose the residential areas between the University of Plymouth and Plymouth Train Station to focus on Socio-Economic problems within the area.
The Socio-Economic Analysis: The Growth of the University
We were asked to respond to our analysis as a) a resident and b) a developer. I took on improving experiences for the residential user. My response was to highlight a reconnection of current residence to the city, due to the lack and disconnection from the station.
This is Simon's response, a focus as a developer to create green economic spaces to initiate micro commerce.
The project overall was an introduction to Urban strategy and allowed us to look at the metropolis in different ways.
